Shirley was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Sartell where she was a lay servant, and helped her husband bring communion and preach the word to residents at Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. Shirley loved birds and animals, especially her dog Mae Bell, who was at her side to the very end. Shirley was also a breast cancer survivor and advocate for over 40 years. Shirley loved music, but perhaps she will be most remembered for her big smile and her love for family and friends.
